Random Happenings

Well it's been a few months, so here are some pics to catch up on our world. Pretty much same ol', same ol' around here. Jordan is loving his job and doing great and still playing music. Colt is getting SO BIG and SO HILARIOUS! I have so much fun with him every day. (Lots of "so"s in there!) Chasing him and catching up on house stuff while he sleeps leaves little time for blogging it seems. I am rushing now too, because I don't think he will let me sit here on the computer for much longer. : ) So enjoy the pics and maybe a better update soon.

I am trying to wait to get his first haircut on his birthday, but it's getting pretty wild!

Overdue Update...

Wow, time has flown and I am behind on posting! So here it goes....

Father's Day was great! Jordan is the best daddy and we had a fun day. Lunch with some of Jordan's fam at The Covey then swimming at Britt and Janet's.

And now for the 8 month pictures!!!! I cannot believe my baby is 8 months (8 1/2 now!)! He is so B-U-S-Y and so much FUN!!! He cracks me up. He can turn 360degrees on his tummy and scoot backwards, but no crawling yet. He now has 6 teeth and eating everything. This boy loves food! I just can't get enough of him!

Next, : ) Jordan and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary in Nashville! Colt spent the night with mom and dad. His FIRST overnight stay without momma!!! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. He did great! Jordan and I stayed at Hotel Indigo, which was beautiful and so trendy! We loved it. We ate dinner at one of my faves, Sunset Grill. The next morning was 4th of July and we headed to Cookeville to hang out with the fam. Jordan had to go back to Ft Worth on Sunday and I stayed till Tues. morning. It was a QUICK trip. I didn't get to see many people :( but hopefully will be back soon.

We were running L-A-T-E to the airport. We pulled in at like 8:15 and my flight was at 8:50am!! So I was pulling bags out of the car as fast as I could while mom ran to get Colt out of his carseat so I could bag it up. In the midst of the chaos I hear mom yell, "Oh no!!!" I turn around, (look close at the pic), and mom has a hand full of poop and it is all up Colt's back and in his carseat!!!! Perfect timing, Buddy! : ) I had to take a pic. Then I threw a diaper, wipes, and new outfit at mom while I ran to check us in. We BARELY made it, but we made it. Colt was an angel on the plane both ways. Yay for Colt, because I was really nervous about that this time!
Whew, and that sums up our past month or so!!! We are looking forward to our trip to the Lakehouse in a few weeks and my graduation in August. Until next time....

June=Fun!

Our friends Missy and Royce got married this weekend! It was a beautiful wedding and reception. They are the sweetest, cutest couple! I was honored to read scripture at their wedding. Missy has been coming to church with me for about 2 years now, and of course Royce comes with her now too! It was neat to be a part of their special day!

As for my sweet baby Colt....one word, BUSY! I'm telling you that boy is go, go, go! He is not crawling yet, but I am preparing myself for that day! He is so much fun!!! His two top teeth are coming in, he loves giving kisses, playing in his jumparoo, and mostly loves to be held while you walk around doing things. He gets heavy pretty quickly!

Teething biscuits are a mess! I am still making his food. So far here are a few of things he's had: carrot, sweet potato, regular potato, avacado, butternut squash, broccoli, spinach, grilled onion, corn, chicken, salmon, spaghetti, pear, peaches, apple, yogurt, banana, laughing cow cheese, whole wheat bread, tomato, chicken broth, cheerios....and more! Mostly all pureed or mashed. He LOVES it ALL! He has not met a food he didn't like!

7 months

What? We have a 7 month old?!

Colt is so much fun these days! He loves to squeal and razz nonstop...he just loves to hear himself chatter! Like his momma!! hee hee He is always playing with his feet and my favorite part is that he is always looking for me. That makes my heart swell up! 

I cannot deny the enormous role God has played in our lives. I was so worried about the finances with me staying home, but God has provided EVERY month! I am in awe and humbled to the core. GOD IS GOOD! There is no way to explain how it works out every month, except that someone above is looking out for us. Some months (yes, this happened more than once) we have literally gotten random checks in the mail from the most random companies because we have overpaid this or that....and I call Jordan in tears telling him that God surprised us and provided again! I don't have the words to do Him justice, but He is amazing. I cannot think of the verse (tell me if you know it!!), but it says something about sharing all the things God does for you....and I could not let another day pass without sharing His goodness and faithfulness. I can now truly rest in His arms. Makes me tear up just thinking about it. I am SO thankful that I get to spend every day with Colt. We have such a sweet bond and precious times together that I would not trade for all the money in the world. Being a mommy is the most glorious job ever.

6 months already!?

Well this post is like 2 weeks late. 

I cannot believe how fast these 6 months went....it is sad to think in another 6 months we will be having his first birthday! Man oh man. I sure love my Colty!
