Let me just tell you that our wedding was a dream come true! Everything was just perfect! Jordan thought I was going to be psychotic, but I was actually very cool and calm, and Jordan was the psychotic one, shall we say groomzilla!?! It was actually kind of sweet though because he told me, and well everyone, that the reason he was so crazy is because he wanted everything to be just perfect for me. He wanted it to be all I had imagined.....so he stressed himself out....and now it's quite funny to look back on.
Mom and dad and Ashley came to Texas about a week before the wedding and worked their hineys off!!!! I don't know what I would have done without my mom. She helped with so much and was such a trooper. I love her!!!
My dear teacher friends did my hair and make-up. Cheryl, who was a hair stylist in her former life, did my hair (as well as several practice runs). She's amazing. Heather did my make-up. One of my favorite memories comes from Heather. In our practice runs and bridal portrait I wore fake eyelashes, which were the coolest things EVER....I was a little obcessed with them. In all the practices they stayed on like a charm, no problems. Well then comes the wedding day- we took some pictures outside before the wedding and the sun was making my eyes water a little so the left corner of my eyelash would not stick!!! It looked hilarious. I was already telling myself that I couldn't cry during wedding or I would have an eyelash stuck to my cheek!!! So it's like 5 minutes before the wedding is supposed to start and Heather is trying to do emergency surgery to my eyelash!!! The coordinator from the chuch is totally freaking out---TOTALLY FREAKING OUT--- she's like, "We need the bride right now! We have to put her on the elevator so that we can send the bridesmaids up!!!" Heather says, "Go ahead and send the bridesmaids up and I will send Lori as soon as I finish." No good. Coordinator responds that they have a tradition that the bride goes up first. Heather looks at me and says, "I am not sending you down the asile half done." Thank God!!! Well the crazy lady disappears and it's just me and Heather. She fixes the eyelash, touches up my lipstick and grabs my hands and says she wants to pray with me. It was the sweetest moment I had had that day. She prayed for me to be calm and to just enjoy every moment of the evening. God was listening because I was very calm, made it through the ceremony without boo-hooing (or an eyelash running down my cheek!), and had an absolute ball. I'll nerver forget that, Heather!!!!
Everyone looked so beautiful. The bridesmaids and our moms were stunning. My class was in the wedding and they were too adorable for words. The ring bearers and flower girl were adorable and hilarious!!!
Our first dance was a big hit. I have a little obsesson with wanting to be on Dancing with the Stars, so I wanted our first dance to be top notch. We planned to take lessons and before we knew it it was a week before the wedding, and you guessed it, no lessons. We practiced for about 5 minutes the day before the wedding and came up with a cool spin and dip, but basiclly decided we were going to have to wing it. Luckily, Jordan is a great dancer so I knew it would at least be better than the high school sway. We just went out there and had fun with it....everyone liked our little spin-dip move but went crazy when Jordan lifted me up over his head. I did the whole Titanic arms spread out deal. It was a riot. Everyone was convinced that we had taken lessons and were shocked when they found out we hadn't. So it was perfect.
The band was out of this world!!! Best cover band EVER! The cakes were glorious. I loved mine but LOVED, LOVED Jordan's. They totally replicated his guitar. All I can say is, wow.
We spent 10 days in Jamaica at an all-inclusive couples resort in Negril. We ate nonstop and had pina coladas on the beach all day. We went snorkling 3 times--one trip was night snorkling! The only place you could see in the water was wherever you shined your flashlight! A little creepy. We saw a sea turtle, octypus, squid, sting ray, lobster, and lots of fish. However, I could not do it ever again because the whole time we were swimming through jelly fish!! You know on Nemo when they are bouncing though all those jelly fish ameba things, well that is what it seemed like. Imagine me with all my get-up on freaking out and screaming under water every time I had to swim through them. Not my best moment. Anyway, the people there we SO nice and it was the best trip of our lives!
Now we are back home and loving married life. It is the best feeling in the world. We couldn't be happier, and we appreciate everything that everyone did to make 7-7-07 the best day ever!
So here are some pics for your viewing pleasure! : )
