Cutest Baby on the Block

Colt is getting so big right before our very eyes! Last weekend we went to Cabelas for Colt to meet Santa! He slept through the whole thing, but I can tell Santa loves him! : ) We are looking forward to all of my family coming in town this week for Christmas. It will be neat to have my family and Jordan's family both here for Colt's first Christmas. I hope you all have a very merry (and nonstressful!!!) Christmas!

5 weeks already?!

Hello, friends! I had to post some pics of Colt for you! Time is flying by and my itty bitty 6lb baby is getting so big!

One month stats:
weight 8lbs 12oz (25%)
height 21 1/4in (50%)
head 14 1/2in (25%)

We had a sorta rough week or two and then I was introduced to Babywise and Baby Whisperer, and now life is grand. The trouble was I never ever put sweet Colt down and would stay up all night to hold him or even bring him to bed with me. Well I soon realized that I had to get things done during the day...like shower and get dressed and clean....and my method was not working! Anyway, I read both books in a day, took the best out of both books, and now I have a baby who sleeps in his crib and loves it! Meanwhile, I can shower and even do my exercise video. I admit that I do miss holding him 24/7. I miss him every second I am not holding him! He is such a good baby. I just can't get enough of him! I HIGHLY recommend those books to all moms, especially if you are expecting. Are there any other Babywise or Baby Whisperer fans out there?

One Month picture! I will be taking his pic each month with Daddy's guitar.

And I also copied you, Becky! One month in the rocking chair. I wasn't sure which one I'd like better...

3 weeks today!

I cannot believe my sweet angel is 3 weeks old today! It makes me sad, really, that he will never be this little again. I can tell he is growing! It's funny how much my days have changed...now my daily goals are things such as: take a shower today, load the dishwasher, try to put Colt down for more than 5 min...funny. Colt is a snuggler, and I am working so hard to get him to like his crib. He wants to be held 24/7 and sleep snuggled up to me. I know that is a bad habit, but it means I get an hour or so of sleep too if I just cuddle up with him, but momma has things to do around the house during the day, so this constant holding has to be tamed! Then again I think of what my mom said. "Hold him tight. He'll grow up fast." NOOOO! That makes me sad and makes me want to hold him even more.... We did, however, have a breakthrough. He slept in his bouncy seat for an hour and then later for an hour and a half. And RIGHT NOW he has been snoozing in his carseat for an hour (thanks for that tip, Julie!!!!). So we are making progress! I just love him to pieces! The reason there are no pictures on this post is because our computer is from 1910 and I can't insert my card into the computer, and we apparently lost the CD that goes with the camera to download pics to the computer. AGHHHH! So this is like an emergency for me to get this figured out because I must share Colt's cuteness with everyone!!! : ) Well love to all, my sweet baby is starting to wiggle over there...here comes momma to save the day!

Colt Mycoskie

Here is Colt in his car seat ready to leave the hospital!
Isn't he handsome! I love all that hair!

How special it was that Elizabeth was there for the birth of my sweet baby boy!

Jordan holding Colt just minutes after he was born.

Love at first sight!!!!
Having Colt here is the best thing in the world! My parents have been here helping out which has been wonderful....mom has caught up all my laundry, cooked every meal, and cleaned nonstop. THANK YOU, Mom and Dad!! I am trying to learn how to sleep...at night I put him in his bassinet by our bed. As soon as he makes a peep I am up like a shot cat to check on him. So I pretty much have not slept. Any advice or is it just like that at the beginning?
He is beautiful and handsome and perfect in every way!!!
Love to you all,
Colt's mom

COLT IS HERE!!!!

Our sweet baby boy is finally here...2 weeks early! Last Wednesday I was lining my class up for PE and realized that I was either peeing in my pants OR my water just broke! Within minutes I am in the bathroom with 3 of my teacher friends and we are trying to figure out if I am peeing uncontrollably or if my water had broken. I was pretty sure my water had broken, but have heard stories of girls going to hospital only to be sent home because they had peed their pants....and I so didn't want that to happen to me! But after 15min or so of on and off "leaking" our school office manager drove me to the doctor who immediately confirmed that Colt is on his way and sent us to the hospital where Jordan soon met us. We got to the hospital around noonish (I think....my water broke at 10:25am). It was nothing like I expected, like you see in the movies....the girl's water breaks and there is a flood of water under her and then the contractions start....nope, not for me. I had a relatively slow leak and contractions didn't kick in until later Wednesday night. AMEN for epidurals!!!! : ) After almost 2 hours of pushing, Colt was born at 3:11am on October 23!!! He weighed in at 6lbs 0oz and 18.5in long. He has a head of dark hair and is beautiful and perfect in every way. I am still amazed that he is my son! Jordan and I are so in love and deeply smitten. We just look and him and cry. God is so good!!! Jordan is such a natural; he is the sweetest daddy I have ever seen. Again, I have no idea why the pics won't come up right. These are from my mom's camera so I will soon be adding pics from our camera. : ) Welcome to this world little baby Colt!!!! MY CUP RUNNETH OVER!!!!

Update!

We have had a fun week getting ready for baby Colt! I went to the doctor and she told me that I was dilated 1cm and 70% effaced. She also told me she didn't think I'd make it longer than another week! OMG! So we might have a baby by next weekend! I suppose I should pack a hospital bag! We are getting so excited and I am starting to get a little panicked over all the last minute things I need to get done. My last day at work is Friday, and I have a feeling there will be some tears. I am going to miss my team SOOOO badly.

We had a couple's shower last night, which was an absolute blast! Here are some pics from the party....

Doesn't Jordan look like a cute daddy!?
It was a double baby shower for me and Jordan's cousin Emily. She is due 10 days after me!

1st Baby Shower!

Colt got lots of goodies Saturday at our first baby shower! Some of Sally's friends hosted us a shower at the Fort Worth Club. It was AMAZING! They didn't forget a single detail! I had such a blast seeing our family and friends and celebrating the upcoming arrival of this little boy! (5 weeks to go!!) The shower couldn't have been any more perfect! I planned to wash and put all the new things up on Sunday, but I got that 24hr stomach bug. I thought I was going to die, but I made it through. : ) It's bad enough to be vomiting and have diarrhea, but even worse when you are 34 weeks pregnant! Yuck! Anyway, here are some shower pics and I have NO IDEA why they are so tiny!!!??

SO CLOSE!!!

Less than 7 weeks until Colt is due!!! I cannot believe it! I washed his sweet clothes and put them away this weekend. They are so TINY. I turned in my resignation letter this week to my principal, which was very bittersweet. I love my job and and team of girls at school, but I am SO READY to fill my days with staring at Colt, changing diapers, and feedings. I cannot wait to wrap my arms around him and rock him! I just cannot imagine what the little guy is going to look like either! I used to be afraid of having one of those ugly babies...you know you've seen them!!!...but I already know he is going to be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!!!! I cannot believe how great my pregnancy has been....I am one lucky gal. My only complaint is not sleeping well lately and coming home totally exhausted after work. I guess I am preparing for life with a newborn though! I have my first baby shower coming up next weekend and I am so excited!!! It takes all I have not to peek at my registries to see what has been bought, but I am holding back because I want to be surprised....but I am oh so tempted!

Thanks to everyone who has encouraged me about staying home with Colt. I truly believe God put you in my path to give me a peace about it. I have had so many girls tell me that it just works out somehow (thanks to the big guy upstairs!!!), but never once has anyone discouraged me from doing it. Once I took that leap of faith and officially decided I would stay home and eat rice and beans if I have to, I have had such a peace and calm spirit. God is so good that I know we will be able to handle any struggles that come our way. So thanks for your sweet words. : )

Anybody have any tips for my last few weeks? Things I need to get done, or pack, or things you wish you would have thought of before baby was born!? Open to all advice! : )

COLT WILL BE HERE SOON!!!

What a busy summer!

How cute is my niece Haley Beth!!??
Jordan and I were trying to be a good aunt and uncle, but she was not impressed!
Sister shot! Julie, me, Haley Beth, and Ashley (Mom makes us pose by these stinkin bulls evertime she comes to town!)
Smile Sophie!!! How hilarious are her bottom teeth!
Sophie was glued to mom and Haley at ALL feedings!
And mom even gave her a bite of rice cereal!! SO SPOILED!!
Wii Fun!

Well we have had a fun-filled August! My mom was here for 3 weeks--and let me tell you Jordan and I are missing our live-in maid and cook! We loved having her here! My sister Julie stayed here while mom was here too- and for one week Ashley, Josh, and Haley Beth were here too! We had a FULL house, but it was a blast! Mom, Sally (Jordan's mom), and I went to a scrapbook bed and breakfast for a weekend. It was too much fun! I scrapped our trip to Hawaii and started Colt's book....yes, I said COLT!! We are about 95% sure we our going to name our little man Colt Clifford Mycoskie. : ) Mom, Sally, Julie, and I went to the Women of Faith conference in Dallas last weekend. It is the best, most uplifting conference. If you ever have a chance to go, GO! While mom was here we got to see a 4D ultrasound of Colt...he is a cutie!!! I CANNOT wait for him to be here!!!! I have been working on his room. Jordan's parents bought us a rocking chair and I just sit in it wishing I was holding him! I cannot believe it is only like 9 weeks until he is here! Jordan has been the sweetest thing. He is already the most adorable daddy ever! I started back to work 2 weeks ago. I forgot how exhausting the first weeks of school are...especially being over 30 weeks pregnant! Whew! But I have a sweet class and I am already worried about who my long-term maternity sub will be and praying she will do a good job. It's hard to leave after you get attached to those sweet kids! Jordan and I have decieded that I am going to stay home after the baby comes. I have had many a night where I cry myself to sleep worrying over what to do. I want to stay home MORE THAN ANYTHING IN THE WORLD, but just worry about eating and paying bills. I finally realized what Jordan has never even questioned...that God has never let us down and will always take care of us. I would rather worry about bills than my baby anyways! I can always teach or work, but will never get these precious days back with our son. So we are going to make whatever sacrifices are needed and put our family first and know that God is on our side!
Here are some pics from all the family visiting Texas! And, by the way, Sophie LOVES having babies around! She was never more than 3 feet away from Haley. It was a hoot! All the toys, snacks that get dropped, noises....right up her alley!

AND!!!! WELCOME TO TEXAS ASH, JOSH, AND HALEY!!! That's right! My sister's family moved to Bedford this weekend!! Wa-hoo!!! Now me and both of my sister are Texans! CRAZY! Now we just need mom and dad's house to sell so they can join us!
